Defence Materiel OrganisationThe Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) is the National Sponsor of REA, commencing a three year partnership in late 2008. The DMO is the government agency responsible for the acquisition and through-life support of capital equipment and systems for the Australian Defence Force. The DMO's sponsorship is part of their Industry Skilling Program Enhancement package that sees major investment into projects and programs over the coming years in a diverse range of areas, and is also focussed on attracting, skilling, retaining and professionalising the defence industry workforce. NTC PowertrainNTC Powertrain is an innovative tier-one provider of transmission design and prototype solutions to the world’s foremost automotive companies. Key clients include General Motors, Ford, Volkswagen and consulting groups BorgWarner, FEV, Ricardo and Jatco. Transmission designs include both front and rear wheel drive Dual Clutch Technology systems (DCT) suited to high performance sports cars or small four cylinder family sedans. NTC has to date delivered over nine new DCT designs (into production) in what is still a very new technology segment. NTC designed the Volkswagen DQ250 DCT/DSG with Volkswagen and BorgWarner. NTC engineers have over 30 years experience and also design manual (MT), automated manual (AMT) and automatic transmissions (AT). Along with automotive design solutions, NTC provides torque delivery solutions including drop box and transfer case designs for the mining, automotive and marine industries. Services provided include complete product design/prototyping, functional audits, product / lifecycle analysis, industry benchmarking, warranty investigations and failure analysis. NTC Powertrain has risen to the global energy challenge and is designing a new era of fuel efficient transmissions as well as developing advanced hybrid technologies including gearboxe designs and transfer case designs for the automotive, marine and mining industries. “We support any attempt to attract bright young minds to futures in engineering and technology.
